With the easing of lockdown many parents are keen to encourage their children to join sports clubs. Read on for a selection of sports clubs in Didcot:
1. Didcot Casuals Football Club
Advertised as football for everyone. Children can join Rising Stars at age 3-6, progressing through to Rookies for age 7-10. There are also dedicated girls only sessions for 5-9 year olds. Junior and youth teams play in the Oxford Mail Youth Football League and the Oxford Mail Girls Football League. The club trains at Brasenose Park, and also plays matches at Aureus School. 2. Didcot Community Tennis
Didcot’s tennis club has recently moved onto the new courts at Great Western Park. The club offers year round tennis coaching sessions in Didcot for children aged 4-17 (and adults as well). 3. BSWK Karate and Karate Kids

4. Didcot Minis and Juniors Rugby
The junior section of Didcot RUFC offers tag rugby for those aged 5-8 years, minimal contact junior touch rugby for children aged 8-13 and transitional contact rugby for 9+ years. Training is at Boundary Park, usually on a Sunday morning for those in the mini and junior sections. Further details on the website.
5. Didcot Cricket Club
Another club based at Boundary Park. The youngest team covers children in school years 3 and 4 (under 9s) who train on a Friday night. Children can move onto the U11, U13, U15 and U19 teams. Training is generally on a Friday night, matches are played on Sunday mornings, Monday evenings andThursdays (depending on age groups). Further details on the website.
6. SMAF Oxford
SMAF offer confidence building martial arts for all age groups. Starting with SMAF Ninja classes for 4-7 year olds, 8-15 year olds children progress to juniors. 7. HHYFC Soccer School
The Harwell and Hendred Youth Football Club offers fun soccer coaching for 4-10 year olds on Saturday mornings at Boundary Park. Football teams, from age 8 upwards, play in the Oxford Mail leagues. Further details here.
