Things to do in and around Didcot in September 2022

I hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer! Hard to believe the schools are back next week and that autumn will soon be on its way.

There are lots of events on in September, read on to find out more:

1. Cafe Jazz

Free jazz at Cornerstone Nourish Cafe from 5-7pm on Friday 23 September. Performed by jazz duo Fleur Stevenson and Hugh Turner. No booking necessary, just turn up.

2. The Take That experience

Held in aid of the Tony Loy Trust (which supports local youngsters), the Take That experience will be performing at Blewbury Village Hall from 7.30pm on Saturday 24 September. Tickets £25, buy in advance via the Tony Loy Trust website.

3. Rock and Roll Bingo

Head over to the Marlborough Club to play rock and roll bingo to support Style Acre. Doors open 6.30pm (start 7pm) on Wednesday 28 September. Game cards £2.50 each. Register your name in advance as numbers are limited.

4. East Hagbourne Village Produce Show

Held from 2-4pm at East Hagbourne Village Hall on Sunday 4 September. Classes for best fruit, vegetables, flower arrangements, baked goods and curries! Entrants must either be resident in the Hagbournes, attend Hagbourne School, be members of Hagbourne Garden Club or have an allotment in the Hagbourne Parish. Full info on the website.

5. Didcot Repair Cafe

The Repair Cafe returns on Saturday 17 September. Pop along to Didcot Civic Hall between 2-5pm, with your broken household items, toys, clothes and small electricals. The Sustainable Didcot team will do their best to repair or offer further advice.

6. The Inflatables

Performing ska, reggae and soul, The Inflatables play at The Mulberry from 8pm on Saturday 24 September. Tickets are £5, available from the pub.

7. Play2Give 15th birthday party

Family fun and music day on Saturday 10 September to celebrate 15 years of Play2Give. The fun kicks off from 3pm at Boundary Park, with stalls, activities and music until 11pm. Bands include The Shakedown Prophets, Legends Rise and Fallen Angels. Free entry.

8. The Brian Adams Experience

Tribute act who will be performing from 8pm on Saturday 17 September at the Marlborough Club. Members £7, non-members £10, tickets available from the bar.

9. Didcot Summer Fun Day

A fundraising event for Wynter’s Wish charity. Held in Ladygrove Park on Saturday 3 September from 11am-6pm. Entertainment includes a free circus skills workshop, fun dog show, local music, street food and a fire performance act.

10. Didcot Food Festival

Held over two days from 10am-4pm  on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September, Didcot Food Festival features over 50 exhibitors, TV and local chefs. The event will be opened by Su Pollard  of Hi-de-Hi fame. Tickets are £5 per day, under 16s free.
