We’ve seen our fair share of rain and wind over the last month. But worry not, spring is on the way and hopefully the weather will improve. Even if it doesn’t, there are plenty of indoor events in and around Didcot in March 2020:

1. Didcot concert orchestra, Cornerstone
Didcot’s own symphony orchestra are performing their sixth concert at 4pm on Sunday 8 March. The orchestra specialises in music by lesser known, sometimes unjustly neglected, composers and this month features Butterworth, Suk and Franck.

2. CANCELLED – Didcot Town Council Litter Pick
Running from two locations, Didcot Civic Hall and the Ladygrove estate. Join in on Saturday 28 March from 10am-12 noon. To register your interest please email events@council.gov.uk and specify which location you would like to participate in.
3. Nearly new sale, Didcot Civic Hall
Sell or buy preloved quality baby and kids goods on Saturday 28 March 10.30am-12.30pm. Entry £2 for buyers. Sellers can book a table online here.
4. The Treehouse 5k, 10k and family bunny run, Cholsey
A running event for all ages and abilities. The 5k and 10k routes are brand new and mostly off road. The bunny run is for families with under 16s. Starts 10am on Sunday 29 March. All finishers receive an event T-shirt and wooden medal. Entry fees range from £5-£20. Further details from event website.
5. Argentine Tango course, Didcot Baptist Church
A five week fundamentals course for novices and dancers wanting to develop their technique. Monday evenings 2-30 March from 7.30-9.30pm. £25 per couple per session. Contact markantonydance@gmail.com or ring Mark on 07541 732242.
6. That 90s party, Boundary Park
Relive the 90s from 7pm on Friday 27 March. There’s an alcopop on arrival and a DJ playing classic tunes from the 1990s. For those who want to get into the 90s spirit and come dressed for the occasion, there is a prize for the best dressed.Tickets cost £5 per person and are available from the bar or Eventbrite.
7. CANCELLED – Cafe Scientifique 10th Anniversary lecture, Cornerstone
Professor John Zarnecki will talk about his role in the Cassini mission on Tuesday 17 March from 7.30pm. Ticketed free event, book through the Cornerstone box office.
8. Lionel Ritchie tribute with Soul and Motown, The Marlborough Club
Lionel Ritchie tribute artist Jason Nembhard performs at the Marlborough Club from 8pm on Saturday 14 March. Tickets on sale from the bar, £5 for members, £7 for non members.
9. Our Day Out, Hagbourne Village Hall
Hagbourne Amateur Dramatic Society (HAMS) presents Our Day Out by Willy Russell on 11, 13 and 14 March at 7.30pm, also 14 March at 2.30pm. Tickets £10 or £7 for the 11 March preview. Purchase tickets from the Village Shop or ring 01235 815344.
10. Lambing festival, Earth Trust
Pop along to visit the farmyard at Earth Trust on 21, 22, 28 and 29 March. See newborn lambs, piglets and goats. Climb hay bales, go on a trailer ride and visit trade stands. Buy tickets in advance online (£22 family, £8 adults, £5 children) and check timings on the Earth Trust website.
