Things to do in and around Didcot in February 2022

Looking for things to do in and around Didcot in February 2022?  I’ve rounded-up an eclectic mix of concerts, talks and shows for you to enjoy.

1. Didcot Concert Orchestra *NEW LOCATION*

Didcot’s own symphony orchestra will be performing next Sunday 6 February.
As Cornerstone has closed at short notice because of boiler failure, Didcot Concert Orchestra is moving from its usual location to The Beacon, Portway, Wantage OX12 9BX, at the slightly later time of 4.30pm.  Everyone already holding tickets will be contacted by The Beacon about transferring their booking to Wantage (unless they wish to cancel).  Please see the website for updates and ticket information.

2. Brilliant Birds and Where to Find

This half-term event is for families with children aged 4-11 years. Runs at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre between 10am-2pm from Monday 21-Thursday 24 February 2022; the bird related activities will take around 2 hours to complete. Tickets cost £5 and must be booked in advance.

3. The Askew Sisters

This London based folk duo are performing at Harwell Village Hall on Friday 18 February, doors open 7pm. Tickets £15 from WeGotTickets.

4.  Treasure Island panto

Steventon NSPCC presents Treasure Island at Steventon Village Hall on Sunday 13, Tuesday 15, Thursday 17, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 February 2022. Matinee at 2.30pm on Sunday and Saturday performances, otherwise 7.30pm start time (no performance Sunday evening). Tickets cost £9 for adults, £7 for concessions and they are available from the Old Farmhouse Bakery (when open) or via 01235 834067 or

5. Korfball beginners sessions

Korfball is a mixed gender ball sport similar to netball and basketball. If you’re 18+ and would like to learn to play then Didcot Dragons Korfball Club are offering three free sessions at Aureus School, on Tuesday evenings from 8.15-10pm starting from 1 February.  Sign up via

6. Cher tribute

Head along to The Marlborough club to hear Laura Jane Butler performing as Cher from 8pm on Saturday 5 February. Tickets £7 members, £10 non-members from WeGotTickets or buy from the bar.

7. The remarkable life of Olive Gibbs

A talk by Liz Woolley at the Northbourne Centre, Church Street, Didcot. Olive was a Labour councillor, peace campaigner, Lord Mayor of Oxford and first female chair of Oxfordshire County Council. You can learn more about her at the Didcot and District Archaeological and Historical Society talk on Thursday 10 February from 7.30pm. All welcome, visitors £4 entry fee.

8. Stargazing 2022 *ONLINE*

This popular event, run by STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, is online this year, on Friday 4 February. Running from 5.30pm, the event features space talks and a planetarium show suitable for adults and children aged 8+ years. Free tickets can be booked via     Eventbrite.

9. Introduction to lino printing

If you’d like to learn a new craft you may be interested in events run by the Oxford Etsy Concept Store team in the Didcot Orchard Centre. The introduction to lino printing 4-hour workshop is on Sunday 20 February and costs £45. There are also painting, drawing and wreath making workshops during February.
