There aren’t many Christmas events this year but there are lots of Christmas lights in Didcot!
I’ve spent this week walking and driving around town to look at the displays.
In Great Western Park my favourite display is at the corner of Blissett Drive/Wynton Close.
I particularly like the Merry Christmas message in the feature photo.
The lights stretch all along the walls; several other local houses are lit up too.
On the ‘other side’ of GWP there are quite a few lights around Juniper Way/Harebell Road (overlooking Boundary Park).
I also photographed another house on Harebell Road. It doesn’t feature in this post as I managed to include a couple of people who (I hadn’t noticed) were standing in the doorway!
The lights on the roof of this house in Sinodun Road caught my eye.
There’s another similarly decorated house just a couple of doors down.
This is the stand out house on Campion Hall Drive. As you can tell I took the photo on bin night…
This house in Glebe Road has inflatables and projection lights!
Queensway has several houses which have gone all out in their decorations.
Whilst this blog focuses on individual houses some roads stand out too. These include Freeman Road and Tavy Close.
Of course the best known display in Didcot is in Medlock Grove. As always it’s completely over the top but I’d expect nothing less. Do leave a donation if you visit; the collection this year is for Didcot food bank.
Are there any other light displays to add to this list? If so, do leave a comment to let me know.
Cottongrass Road on GWP (the cul de sac part) is looking locely
That is very kind of you.I may well take your advice and have a drive round Didcot one evening to see all these beautiful lights. Nice of you to go to all this trouble. Thank You. Kind Regards Etta Thomas
