Didcot Christmas Street fair
Held on the Broadway and around the Orchard Centre on Thursday 28 November from 4-9pm. This year’s theme is the ‘12 days of Christmas’. As usual there will be fairground rides, stalls from local charities and organisations and a parade.
A festive day out with Thomas, Didcot Railway Centre
Runs every weekend from Saturday 30 November until Sunday 22 December. Meet Father Christmas in his grotto, take unlimited train rides and meet the Fat Controller. Adults £16, children 1-15 £16 (includes present). Book tickets in advance via the Didcot Railway Centre website.
Manor School Christmas Bazaar, Didcot
Takes place from 1-3pm on Saturday 30 November. Raffle, refreshments, secret gift wrapping room, cake competition, stalls and Christmas crafts. There’s also an opportunity to hand in empty Pringles tubes for recycling. Adults £1, children free.
Fancy dress Christmas party, Didcot Civic Hall
Children’s party from 2.30-4.30pm on Saturday 30 November. Organised by Music & Movement and Rainbow Parent & Toddler Group. £3 per child. Bring a wrapped present for your child for Father Christmas to hand out.
Cinderella, Harwell Village Hall
Jigsaw Stage Productions presents a traditional pantomime, Cinderella. Performances at 3.30pm and 7pm on Saturday 30 November. Tickets £7 (concessions £5) from 01235 200266 or Bob’s Butchers, Harwell.
Christmas Craft evening, Harwell Village Hall
A festive evening of crafts for adults from 7-10pm on Sunday 1 December. Tickets £20, from Eventbrite, include one craft and a festive drink.
Didcot Town Carol Concert, Civic Hall
At the Civic Hall on Tuesday 3 December from 7.15-9pm. Didcot Choral Society joins with local schools and groups to sing together and perform Christmas carols and songs. Refreshments available. Free admission, collection taken for the Mayor’s charities.
Christmas craft fayre, Frids’ bistro, Didcot Girls’ School
An evening of shopping from local artisans and Christmas raffle. Mulled wine, Prosecco and mince pies. Pop along on Thursday 5 December from 6-9pm.
Winter Wreath Making Workshop, Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre
On Friday 6 December from 6.40-8.30pm. Make a natural wreath, tickets £15 from Eventbrite.
Breakfast with Santa, Station Garden, Didcot
At 10am on Saturday 7 and Saturday 14 December. £5 per child, includes a present from Santa and a cooked breakfast. Booking essential.
Christmas wreath making, Savages, Blewbury
Create a Christmas wreath on Saturday 7 December. There’s the choice of two sessions, either 10am or 1.30pm. £30, call to book on 01235 850352.
Christmas craft afternoon for children, Harwell Village Hall.
From 2-4pm on Saturday 7 December. Tickets £6 per child, includes one festive craft activity and a soft drink. Children must be accompanied. Book in advance through Eventbrite.
Play2Give Christmas Party, Didcot Town Football Club
On Saturday 7 December from 7.15-11pm. Join Play2Give for its third annual Christmas party open to everyone. Bring the kids. Bring the family. Raising money for local charities. Free entrance.
A Holly Jolly Christmas, Didcot Civic Hall
At 5.30pm on Saturday 7 December Didcot Community Gospel Choir concert in aid of Didcot Volunteer Centre. Tickets £8, concessions £6.
Christmas fair, GEMS Didcot Primary Academy
From 2.30-5pm on Saturday 7 December. A festive afternoon filled with games, face painting, choir performances and local stall holders. Festive tea room, craft area, surprise wrapping room and a lot more!
Community choir carols, Orchard Centre, Didcot
Organised by The King’s Church from 4-5pm on Saturday 7 December. Come along and join in.
Christmas Tree Festival, St Andrew’s Church, East Hagbourne
Thirty Christmas trees decorated by community groups, businesses and local clubs. Church open daily from Saturday 7-Friday 20 December, refreshments always available. Entrance free but please donate £1 to vote for your favourite tree.
The Adventures of Pinocchio, Cornerstone
Cornerstone’s Christmas show runs from Saturday 7-Sunday 29 December. Tickets £16, concessions £14.50. Tickets and full details of all performances on Cornerstone website.
Beauty and the beast panto, Marlborough Club, Didcot
Chaplains Theatre Company present Beauty and the Beast at 3pm on Sunday 8 December. Purchase tickets in advance from the bar; adults £5, children £3, family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £15.
Medlock Grove, Didcot Christmas lights turn on
The most decorated house in Didcot! This year’s Christmas lights will be turned on at 6.30pm Sunday 8 December (and will remain on throughout the Christmas period). Charity donations to Friends of PICU (Southampton Paediatric Intensive Care Unit).
Ice rink at Harwell School
Go skating on the (temporary) ice rink at Harwell School and then pop along to the Christmas fair afterwards. Sessions on Friday 13 December from 4.30-7pm, £5 for 30 minutes skating.
Christingle service, St Peter’s Church, Didcot
St Peter’s children’s Christingle service takes place at 3.30pm on Saturday 21 December.
Festive Fair, Wheatsheaf Pub, Wantage Road, Didcot
From 11am-6pm on Saturday 21 December to raise money for Play2Give. Stalls, Santa sleigh and grotto, raffle and mince pies.
Live nativity play, Orchard Centre, Didcot
In conjunction with The Kings Church this will wind its way down from the Cornerstone Arts Centre, along Orchard Street, to the amphitheatre at Orchard Centre. From 4.30pm on Saturday 21 December.
Children’s Christmas Party, Marlborough Club, Didcot
Fun and games and presents for all children at the annual Marlborough Club Christmas party. From 2-5pm on Sunday 22 December. Tickets £1.50.
